Step 2: Race

Choose a race. Each race, with the exception of humans, modifies its attributes. This is why certain races are more fit for a specific class than others, but it doesn't prevent any race from becoming a specific class. You can optionally play an interspecies race. Keep in mind that no attribute can go below 1.

Races
-Duergar (Dwarf-Gnome): Fitness + 5, Mind + 5, Speed - 10. Duergar are shorter than dwarves, but taller than gnomes. They have mostly dwarven features, except darker hair and colors.
-Dwarf: Fitness + 10, Speed - 10. Dwarves come up to the average human's sternum. They live mostly in mines (by choice). They have brown or red hair and blue or brown eyes. Otherwise, they look like stocky humans.
-Elf: Mind + 10, Fitness - 10. Elves are slightly shorter than humans. They live mostly in forests in either small migrating tribes or massive cities. They have light hair colors (blonde, light brown, light red) and blue eyes. They have pointy ears.
-Faerie: Fitness - 6, Mind + 10, Speed - 4. Faeries are the same size as gnomes. They look like miniature humans with butterfly wings. Otherwise, there is no difference.
-Ghoul (Zombie-Faerie): Fitness + 6, Mind + 4, Speed - 10, undead. Ghouls are zombies changed by a faerie's magic to be even more frightening. They live in forests. Their hair is deadened shades of normal human colors, as with their eyes (which are either gone or white, usually).
-Gnome: Mind + 9, Speed - 9. Gnomes come up to humans' waists. They live mostly in highly advanced technological cities. They look like small humans and appear similar to gypsies (dark hair and eyes, fine features).
-Goblin: Fitness - 5, Mind - 5, Speed + 10. Goblins are really ugly small elves with leathery skin and orange eyes. They were formerly elves, but millennia of enslavement and the way they had been treated them caused them to be the way they are.
-Half-Elf (Human-Elf): Fitness - 1, Mind + 6, Speed - 5. Half-elves have combined features of both of their parents. Each race thinks they look more like the other, however.
-Half-Ogre (Human-Ogre): Fitness + 6, Mind - 5, Speed - 1. Half-ogres are shorter than their pure counterparts. They are more accepted by ogres than humans, as they are the result of a male ogre raping a human.
-Hobgoblin (Imp-Goblin): Fitness - 2, Mind - 3, Speed + 5. An imp is a corrupted goblin. They have much darker skin with jagged, spiky growths.
-Human: No attribute modification. Humans are humans.
-Imp: Speed + 8, Fitness - 10, Mind + 2. Imps are small demonic creatures. They have pure black skin and eyes. They do not breed to create half-races, instead just corrupting the bodies of the other race. They are the same size as gnomes.
-Kobold: Speed + 7, Mind - 10, Fitness + 3. Kobolds are short humans with the heads of jackals. They are the height of dwarves, but not as stocky.
-Nymph (Elf-Faerie, always female): Fitness + 4, Mind + 6, Speed - 10. Nymphs are very beautiful and look primarily like elves. They do not have wings and they live in forests.
-Ogre: Fitness + 10, Mind - 10. Ogres are giant humans with tougher skin.
-Revenant (Imp-Zombie): Mind + 5, Speed - 5, undead. Revenants are corrupted zombies. They have rotten flesh and very little hair.
-Steam Faerie (Gnome-Faerie): Fitness - 5, Mind + 10, Speed - 5. Steam faeries are like gypsy faeries. They live in gnome cities. Their wings are a sepia-toned, as are their eyes. Their hair is pure black.
-Varg (Imp-Kobold, always male): Fitness - 4, Mind - 5, Speed + 9. Varg are corrupted kobolds. They have sharper teeth, shorter fur, and darker flesh.
-Zombie: Fitness + 10, Mind -5, Speed - 5, undead. Zombies are humans who have returned from the dead in varying, but now eternally suspended, states of decay.
